Mississippi Volunteer Dies Responding to Call

Ollie Phil Tate, 56, a member of Thaxton Vol. Fire Dept., died Aug. 8 after he fell out of a vehicle while responding to a fire, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

Preliminary reports indicate that he suffered the heart attack, and then fell from the bed of a pickup truck while en route to a working structure fire.

Funeral Information

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at Thaxton Baptist Church, Thaxton, MS, 38871.

Memorial donations may be sent to his fire department at 3100 Hunter Road, Thaxton, MS, 38871.
