    Paul A. Brotherton

He was 'special,' 'a great firefighter,' and 'a family man'

His comrades described Paul A. Brotherton as a quick wit, a warm person and a knowledgeable firefighter who loved his family and his friends.

Cloth that covered the blue Brotherton Way sign was removed minutes later. More than 100 people attended, including Worcester firefighters, family and friends.
Robert D. Grossman, chairman of selectmen, told the group that the busy spot is a good location for the purpose of honoring Firefighter Brotherton because of the thousands of people who use the road daily to get to work or to the mall.
Selectman Carl Westerman, his voice filled with emotion, asked everyone to remember the other firefighters who also died that day. Emphasizing the dangers to their own lives that firefighters face every day, Mr. Westerman said,
