Mayor, 400 Bravest Pay Tribute to Fallen 'Dude'

Mayor Bloomberg, Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta and 400 firefighters attended a funeral Mass yesterday for Firefighter George Cain, whose remains were recovered in January at Ground Zero.

The bagpipes skirled mournfully as a helicopter color guard flew overhead.

It was the second service for the 35-year-old firefighter; a memorial Mass was offered in the same church, St. William the Abbot, in Seaford, L.I., on Nov. 2.

Cain was a firefighter for seven years
