I met Vernon in Merchants & Bankers Business and Secretarial School in 1976, in the court reporting program, during the evening sessions. I was completing my course at night while working as a reporter during the day. Vernon always made
sure that I had one of the best seats in class: up front and next to him. It was important to be able to hear the instructor's dictation and record it for practice. He was also always full of fun.

I'm not surprised that he helped people above and beyond the call of duty in Small Claims Court, because that's the way he was in class.

Vernon is now with God, and that is how he should be remembered,as a good and decent man who did his best for everyone.
