NVFC Seeks Volunteers Involved in WTC Response

The National Volunteer Fire Council is in the process of identifying principal volunteer organizations involved in the response to and recovery from the September 11th attacks. The project, under a grant from the National Guard Bureau, is to develop and disseminate a CD-ROM based "Comprehensive Reference Resource" (CRR). The CRR will provide a reference resource for Federal, State, and Local governments, emergency responders, and supporting practitioners to learn what happened and how they can better prepare their communities for future terrorist attacks.

NVFC is looking for Departments to be included in the CRR. Specifically, any volunteer fire service organization involved in the response to and/or recovery from the 9-11 attacks. These agencies either responded to the initial attacks, provided mutual aid response (initially or post 9-11), or backfilled fire stations (initially or during the recovery efforts).

We have compiled the following lists of Departments involved in the New York attack. If your department is in the category of those we have not heard from, please go to the NVFC website at www.nvfc.org/911_research.html and answer five questions for us. If your department does not appear on this list and you were involved in the response to and recovery from the September 11th attacks, we want to hear from you as well.
