Ceremony Marks End of Sept. 11 Recovery Efforts at Landfill

n another sign that New York City is turning its efforts toward rebuilding in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, recovery workers and victims' families gathered at the Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island for a brief ceremony to mark the end of the search for human remains.

"Today's theme could be summed up by saying that we are always moving forward but we never stop looking back," said Senator Charles E. Schumer.
