Bar Cap loses game but wins friends in 9/11 memorial cup

BARCLAYS Capital took on New York's Fire Department in a transatlantic match raising cash for a memorial to a firefighter killed in the September 11 attacks.

The team from the North Colonnade-based bank lost 2-1 in an exciting final to the second annual Barclays Capital Charity Soccer Tournament.

Phil Duffy, captain of the bank's worldwide HQ team, said: "Shocking, a British football team got beat by Americans!"
