    The Chief of the Bluegrove Volunteer Fire Department in Clay County, Texas, died of an apparent heart attack after responding to a hay and vehicle fire July 9.

    G. Don Fox, 60, became ill at the scene and was found later in his home according to Don Davis with the Davis Funeral Home. He passed away at the Henrietta Hospital.

    Fox was born on in Navo, Texas, and was an oil field heavy equipment mechanic and had served in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Bluegrove in 1976. He loved restoring antique tractors and fishing. He was a certified EMT.

    Survivors include: wife Sherri of Bluegrove, Texas; daughter Cindy Harlin, granddaughters, Lani Danielle Harlin and Brandi Shawn Fox; grandson, Joseph Wyatt Fox.

    Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Walker, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Bluegrove Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
