    An accident involving two volunteer firefighters, Barbara Bordenkircher and William Stanton from the Wickliffe Rural Fire Department in Kentucky, left Bordenkircher dead and Stanton in the hospital with serious injuries.     Initial Summary:
    Firefighter Bordenkircher was operating a piece of fire apparatus in response to a reported grass fire when for a cause still to be determined the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, killing Bordenkircher and seriously injuring another firefighter, William Stanton, who was riding in the vehicle.
