    Firefighter Dies During Training

    Firefighter laid to rest

Hundreds of firefighters from across the Hudson Valley yesterday paid their respects to Robert Brooks, Sr., the Montgomery fireman who died last Monday of a brain aneurysm during training at the Orange County Fire Training Center.

Brooks, 42, is survived by his wife, Shannon, and their five children.

Brooks, who moved his family north from Long Island within the last year, was eulogized by family, friends, clergy and fellow firematics officials.

Orange County Executive Edward Diana said Brooks epitomized the definition of volunteerism.
