    An Allentown man who was killed less than a quarter-mile from his home Monday was responding to an accident on Interstate 16 on the Laurens-Bleckley County line.

    Allentown City Councilman Robert Davidson, who has also been an Allentown Volunteer Firefighter for 30 years said Steven Brack, 36, of Allentown, was outside his home Monday evening when Davidson rode by in the fire truck headed to an emergency call on Interstate 16.

    Final Summary:
    Firefighter Brack was responding from his home to a motor vehicle crash that required extrication. He was driving his personal vehicle. Less than one-fourth mile from his home, Firefighter Brack lost control of his vehicle. The car left the roadway and struck a culvert. The car then became airborne, flipped several times, and came to rest. Firefighter Brack was killed. The streets were wet, and it was raining at the time of the incident. Firefighter Brack was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash
