Five Pakistani Firefighters Killed in Blaze

A blaze claimed the lives of five firefighters when it spread through a factory in the Pakistani port city of Karachi Monday, reports said.

At least 15 other people, including fighters and laborers, were injured when the roof of the garments factory collapsed burying the firefighters, who were called to extinguish the blaze, Geo television reported.

A rescue operation is underway to pull the firefighters out of the debris.

The injured were taken to the city's main Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The incident happened at Karachi's Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE), which houses may industries.

It was not immediately clear what caused the blaze.
