WORCESTER — From left, Jim Coakley, Firefighter Paul Brosnihan, and Fire Lt. Norberto Hernandez cook in Institute Park during the 10th annual Worcester Firefighters Memorial 6K run yesterday. The proceeds from the event have changed since its conception. The race was formed to raise money for the memorial built to honor fallen firefighters. After the first year, different charities, all nonprofits, have received a total combined sum of more than $235,000. The 10th memorial race charities are Genesis Club, Connecticut Burn Foundation, Bottom Line, Community Harvest Project, and Sherry's House.
